How to Order Riverhawk's Torque Meter

  1. Submit a coupling drawing with data pertaining to the torque and speed ranges.
  2. Our engineering team will then do a feasibility analysis of the application and a preliminary drawing is generated with the help of the coupling manufacturer of your choice. (We contact the coupling manufacturer and give them the modification details needed on the coupling).
  3. Coupling manufacturer and Riverhawk both review and finalize details with customer to generate the approved design drawings.
  4. The modified coupling (and sleeves if it is an unflanged gear type) is sent to Riverhawk for gauging, installation of electronics, and manufacturing of related instrumentation.
  5. Riverhawk works with customer to finalize details such as cabling and stator installation.
  6. Once finished, the Riverhawk torque meter is set on our test stand, using load cells traceable to N.I.S.T. (National Institute of Standards and Technology), and is tested and calibrated to customer specified values. (Note that the customer is invited to witness the calibration.)

The torque meter and coupling are returned to the coupling manufacturer for balancing and painting before being sent to the site. Other equipment and hardware is shipped directly from Riverhawk to site.
